So after looking at schedule it’s going to be a while before i can post any video tutorials. I may try and record a few on Memorial Day since I won’t be doing much of anything that day. But until then I’ll post production notes and promos that I have helped create.

It Matters

Back some time ago during a video shoot me and a good friend were having a conversation about how i’d invite my cousin to church and was trying to get me to role play the conversation with him and I refused to role play. My justification was it seemed pointless and wouldn’t be anything like the real conversation, and so lovingly my friend who is sitting 3 feet from me calls my phone to try and role play this conversation on the phone and then when i hit ignore he left a message that has forever marked my mind. The message said, “Hi, David I just died and went to hell.” And we continued our conversation about talking with people and inviting and stuff and I avoided my voice mail for about a week because I knew that message would be the first I wold hear.

I finally listened to the message and saved it because I knew that this would be something to keep around. Listening to my messages a couple days ago I had a saved message and I hit the button to listen to it and it was the message i referenced above. It broke me and my heart for people like never before. I think about getting the message from my family members, my friends, and anyone that I meet that doesn’t have a true relationship with Jesus and my heart breaks for them. As I get to see them taking steps forward into a relationship with Jesus, it relieves my heart to know that I don’t have to get that message from them.

It matters that we take steps in relationally-intelligent ways reach the people around them and love them unconditionally so that they can see a clear picture of the truth of who Jesus is.

Don’t Be Greedy

This is something that Jesus has been showing me over the past months is to not be greedy. Where this comes into play for me is in the area of technology know-how and information. For most of my life I kept my tech secrets my secrets because it allowed me to be more valuable and I was very prideful about being able to do tasks that others are not able to do.

And even still I find myself operating in this fashion. I began really taking a look at why I didn’t share information and it all pointed back to my past, wanting to be noticed and told how great of a job I did. I’m not saying telling someone they did a great job is wrong but for me it was an “I deserve this” attitude.

Looking at the benefits of keeping the information to myself or sharing the information I came to realize that sharing the information is much more important, that’s what Jesus did. He shared information that only he had and distributed to others who needed this information in order to advance the kingdom. So through my selfish motives I was knowing and purposefully hindering the advancement of the kingdom. This was the true place of my heart and I knew I didn’t want to be there anymore.

Then I began looking at what would happen if I shared the information I have. I could instead of slowing the growth of what Jesus wants to do, I could be part of speeding up the pace. Which translates into people who don’t have a true relationship with Jesus entering into a relationship with him and being transformed to be more like Jesus, which is what I want to see happen. With this comes a lot of growth in my own heart, and I’m learning to not live in scarcity but live in abundance. My heart is growing in a direction of wanting to share information and let other people experience the joy I get to experience of seeing lives and eternities changed.
